What a evening at The Hawthorns, The Baggies have come with all three points against Frank Lampard’s Coventry that has now put us back into the play-off places in the EFL Championship.

It was a great night at The Hawthorns after a 2-2 draw over Sheffield United on Sunday, now 3 days later we face Midland Rivals Coventry City. Alex Palmer was tested denying Norma Bassette’s finish though we soon took aim and saw Mikey Johnston’s effort go wide and Josh Maja’s strike get blocked.
The Baggies broke the deadlock on the 11th minute when a loose ball fell to Alex Mowatt just outside the box and his strike hit the Coventry defender before it went into the bottom corner.

The visitors Coventry tried to make a response when Jack Rudoni almost converted from a corner. It stayed quiet for the rest of the first half, when Karlan Grant guided a volley wide, and down the other end Palmer came to stop Josh Eccles’s shot.
Sky Blues made two big chances at the start of the second half, when Jake Bidwell and substitute Viktor Torp both nodded wide at close-range. Another header tested Alex Palmer midway through the second half, this time via Sakamoto, during a dominant spell by Coventry.
The Baggies doubled the scoreline 16 minutes from time, with Karlan Grant who drove forward and scored his first Hawthorns goal of the season.

West Brom 2-0 Watford

It was our first win in 5 games following four consecutive draws and having drawn 10 out of 11 games before this game. I knew if we won 5 out of those draws we had we would be top of the Championship. Still we have the same points at this stage than we did last season on 32 points after 20 games, I believe we get into those play-offs come May and push for automatic promotion if we start to go on a excellent run. We have so far lost 2 games and by 1 goal we have been very unlucky with draws I think this season.
Next up is a trip to Watford come Sunday with a Match Preview out on Friday evening/Saturday morning.
