Another defeat on the road for the Baggies after they lose to bottom side of the Championship Plymouth Argyle 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

A 4am get up for an away day to Plymouth meant it was not a great performance from the West Brom team against a team who haven’t won in 11 league games. Our away form in the last 2 or 3 seasons have not been the best and it’s a habit that we coming to these games with nothing in return.
First half nothing really happened much the only chance did not begin to arrive until half way through the first half. Alex Mowatt fired an Albion opportunity over, while Argyle’s Callum Wright saw a header well blocked by Mason Holgate down the other end.
Moments into the second half Matthew Sorinola was denied when he raced in on goal with Alex Palmer gathering the ball bravely around six yards out. Then Plymouth keeper Conor Hazard, who kept proceedings goalless, pulling off an excellent double save and denying Torbjorn Heggem’s overhead kick as well as Johnston’s build up.
We also did get a goal that was ruled out when Grady Diangana solted the ball into the net but the assistant referee declared it was offside.
However the Baggies went ahead with Jed Wallace drove the ball into the area and allowed Molumby to tap in to make it 1-0.

Plymouth responded to the goal at an instance by winning a penalty where Styes handball and Ryan Hardie converted from the spot to give Argyle an equaliser.
And they won it two minutes from time. Hardie’s initial attempt was blocked, yet he finished the rebound, leaving them to claim the spoils.
Two minutes till the interval, Plymouth won it when Hardie’s attempt was blocked but finished at the rebound giving them all the three points and giving us in my opinion an embrassing and shocking defeat.
However, I am not really shocked by it as when we go away we seem to be like a team battling relegation and in the last few seasons we seen us lose to Rotherham on Good Friday, Sheffield Wednesday last season and now Plymouth and those three sides have been in the bottom 4 before we faced them. I hope this is a wake up call for us and need to learn on how to handle playing away from home better.
Next up is Sheffield Wednesday at home next Saturday and for Plymouth they face Liverpool at Home Park in the FA Cup.
