A long trip on Saturday for the Baggies as they head down to Devon to take on Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle at Home Park. Can the Baggies carry on as they did last weekend against Portsmouth?

Last time out the Baggies got back to winning ways after a 5-1 victory over Portsmouth at The Hawthorns last weekend, this weekend they take on Plymouth who are bottom of the Championship but have drew 2-2 to 4th place Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. They have picked up a number of draws of late, with the Baggies they have drew a fair few games on the road.

I am not taking this game away to Plymouth for granted as we haven’t won on the road since Hull in November.

Player To Watch – Plymouth

Darko Gyabi is my player to watch for Plymouth against West Brom on Saturday because of his growing influence in midfield. Since joining on loan from Leeds United, he has shown glimpses of the talent that saw him develop at Manchester City.

Against West Brom, his ability to control possession, drive forward with the ball, and break up play will be crucial. His physicality and technical ability make him a key asset in Plymouth’s midfield battle.

With a point to prove and a chance to shine in a big game, Gyabi could be the standout performer for Plymouth this weekend.

Player To Watch – West Brom

He had a great game on Saturday against Portsmouth, this time he is my player to watch and that’s Jed Wallace.

He proved doubters wrong against Portsmouth with his goal and effort and proved to be one of the best players in that game. I think he would start on Saturday at Plymouth and this fixture could be the making of him for this season if he performs well he could be back into the starting 11 and could help us try and get into the play offs, lets see what happens.

My Line Up V Plymouth

Same line up as last weekend to Portsmouth, I would play a 4-4-2 formation like how Mowbray plays, I think he play the same back four and have Johnston and Fellows in attacking midfield with Diangana and Wallace would play as strikers.

Prediction V Plymouth

This is the point of the match preview where I predict the outcome of the upcoming game, I did go for a 4-1 win last time out and it was 5-1 to West Brom.

I am predicting the games correctly expect for the Middlesbrough game where I said we draw 2-2 and lost 2-0. Lets see how I do here.

I think first 10 minutes the Baggies would strike and get an early opener with Mikey Johnston scoring from outside the box to give us a lead. From the goal it be a quiet first half with not much chances from both sides and it be 1-0 West Brom at half time.

Second half, Plymouth would start strong and in the 63rd minute they equalise with Darko Gyabi getting on the scoresheet giving them something to play for.

This would last around the 86th minute when Karlan Grant would pull something out of nothing and get us back in the lead, then late on I think the Baggies would get a late free kick with Alex Mowatt striking it into the net and give us a 3-1 win on the road.

Prediction: Plymouth Argyle 1-3 West Brom

Plymouth Argyle Goalscorers: Darko Gyabi

West Brom Goalscorers: Mikey Johnston, Karlan Grant, Alex Mowatt

A 3-1 victory at Plymouth I’m going for, I think they be a tricky side to play against at Home Park and would be on our toes until late in the second half. It be 1-1 throughout the second half I have predicted and would create a few chances and try to win the game but I said we get two late goals and come home with a victory on the road.

Lets hope what happens on Saturday and see if we can overcome those away day woes having not won away since Sunday November 10th 2024.

Anyways, it’s my first trip down to Plymouth and hope it be a great away day for me on Saturday and safe travels for those who are coming and hope to see some of you there. Plus no training courses this weekend that prevented me from going there last season.
