The Baggies host Queens Park Rangers at The Hawthorns on Monday evening in their upcoming Championship fixture.

After Boxing Day’s fixture to Bristol City and a 2-1 defeat, we go again a few days later as QPR would be visiting the Hawthorns as we hope to bounce back from a poor run of form against a side who are chasing the Play-Offs.

QPR drew 1-1 away at Portsmouth on Boxing Day and a few weeks ago when they faced us they went onto to win 3-1 at Loftus Road, I expect this to be another difficult evening for the Baggies as we are now 6 points above the drop zone and if we continue this poor stretch of run we are, I think we are in a relegation battle.

Player To Watch – QPR

Rumarn Burrell is the player to watch for QPR against West Brom on Monday night because he is currently their most dangerous attacking outlet and is in impressive form. He has been scoring consistently this season and has become central to QPR’s attacking play, often providing the cutting edge when chances are limited. His pace, sharp movement and ability to run in behind make him a constant threat to opposition defences.

Burrell also goes into the game with confidence after having previously scored against West Brom, which gives him a psychological edge. QPR rely heavily on his goals and overall influence in the final third, and his ability to turn small moments into decisive actions means he could have a major impact on the outcome of the match.

Player To Watch – West Brom

Ousmane Diakité is a player to watch for West Brom against QPR because of his energy, athleticism and growing influence in midfield. He has the ability to break up play, carry the ball forward and support attacks, making him an important link between defence and attack. His physical presence and willingness to drive into advanced areas mean he can cause problems for QPR, particularly when arriving late into the box or pressing high up the pitch.

Diakité also comes into the game with confidence after scoring in West Brom’s previous match against Bristol City, where he found the net late on to give Albion a lifeline. That goal highlighted his threat from midfield and his ability to contribute at key moments. Against QPR, his box-to-box running and goal threat could be crucial, especially in a game where midfield battles and fine margins are likely to decide the outcome.

Line Up V QPR

I have a back four of George Campbell, Chris Mepham, Nat Phillips and Callum Styles, in midfield I have Isaac Price and Osumane Diakite, in attack Karlan Grant and Mikey Johnston would retain their place in the starting line up and up front Heggebo and Dike would come in.

Prediction V QPR

Last time out I predicted a defeat for West Brom as I put down a 3-2 loss, however the score was 2-1 to Bristol City. I expect this one to be another difficult game and I’m not sure how this one would go.

I say it be dull through the first 20 minutes of the game with both sides not starting off well, around the 37th minute the deadlock would be broken and say the Baggies would get the first goal with Karlan Grant getting his shot in this time that would hit the back of the net and put us in the lead before the break.

In the second half, QPR would try to come back into it with Joe Wildsmith making some good saves where Richard Kone would try to equalise and be blocked, it be a quiet second half and a few chances to double the advantage but my prediction means the Baggies would win here 1-0.

Prediction: West Brom 1-0 QPR

Goalscorer for West Brom: Karlan Grant

A 1-0 win I’m going for here, it be a tight game and not much chances I think would be happening in this encounter. I say Karlan Grant would get the goal in the 37th minute and not much would happen in the second half as we would eventually come away 1-0 winners here.
