The Baggies made it back to back league wins following a 2-0 win over Bristol City in front of a sold out Hawthorns.

Three changes was made after the 4-1 win over Huddersfield last week where Erik Pieters, Conor Townsend and Tom Fellows started in the first 11. We didn’t start the game well it looked like we was playing like we did against Huddersfield in the first half. Bristol sat deep throughout and we didn’t really press as much.

Tom Fellows finds the opener in the 45th minute.

As the first half came to a close Mikey Johnston got onto the ball, jinked inside and gave the ball to Yokuslu. He then aimed to leather another but flicked across to Tom Fellows who was on a lot of space and sweeped it into the bottom corner to give the Baggies the lead.

Jed Wallace doubles the lead early in the second half.

In the second half Bartley came on for Pieters, then 5 minutes into the half there was more eye catching buildup involving Johnston and Townsend that ensured Jed Wallace to double the lead to make it 2-0.

Bristol City made some great opportunities late in the second half as Taylor Gardner Hickman was close to scoring against his ex club as Alex Palmer denied him. Carlos then introduced Yann M’Vila from the bench where he made his debut since signing last month and his he helped to see out the final stages as Bristol City came to pressure us but at the end we secured another 3 points and a clean sheet to go into an international break on a high.

That win keeps us 5th and I think that is where we will finish, play offs is a few months away but I cannot think the outcome of this at the moment. Next up is an away trip to Millwall on Good Friday where Bristol City face league leaders Leicester City on the same day.

Enjoy the international break and we will be back for Easter football against Millwall and Watford.
