The Baggies were beaten by the Hornets on Sunday afternoon, dropping to 8th in the Championship. The gap between them and 6th place is starting to look worrying.

Before the game I didn’t expect us to get anything such as 3 points as Watford are a side who are doing well this season and are yet to lose at home yet. I expect Watford to be inside the top six this season but with that result I still believe we can get there but we need to start trying to make The Hawthorns a fortress again like last season and try and pick up points away like last season we was 21st away overall but still managed to finish 5th.

However onto the game, Watford started brightly Rocco Vata smashed the crossbar after 15 minutes while Alex Palmer also gathering Giorgi Chakvetadze’s low attempt.

The Baggies created chances too, with Uros Racic and Darnell Furlong sent efforts off-target whilst Karlan Grant forced Daniel Bachmann into a stop.

Watford then broke the deadlock 10 minutes before the break when Bayo headed home the opening goal to give them the lead at the break.

Still, the Baggies tried to get a equaliser and went very close via Callum Styles’ shot – which ended up just wide – and Grant, who just couldn’t get a finish away from close-range during stoppage-time.

Just moments into the second half Watford doubled the lead when Bayo got his brace by volleying past Alex Palmer, despite their was calls of a foul during the build-up to the goal.

The Baggies finally somehow cameback into the game pulling one back with Jayson Molumby’s second goal of the season.

We searched for an equaliser in the final moments of the game when Darnell Furlong had his header clawed away in the 93rd minute and we suffered a defeat to Watford leaving us 8th in the Championship.

Goalscorers for West Brom: Molumby

Not a great day in the office for the Baggies and having thought we be back to our drawing spell again we have suffered defeat to Watford. I knew it be difficult but 2 wins in 14 is worrying and we cannot just keep gaining draws and then lose a game that could get us back into play-off contention.

Bristol City at home next weekend is a game that we should get a result out of, I say the next 2 games is vital to our season.
