The biggest game of the Easter weekend as 6th take on 7th knowing a win against Coventry would put the Baggies back into the top six.

It all comes to this Good Friday fixture as The Baggies take the short trip to Coventry and is the biggest game of the season so far knowing a win here would put them into the play-off places with 3 games remaining. There are only 3 points between us and Coventry knowing if we do lose this one Coventry would be 6 points ahead of us and it would take a lot to catch them.

Our record to Coventry has been good as we have won the last 3 games against the Sky Blues. Our away record is the worry as we haven’t won away since November at Hull City plus our away games on a Friday is also awful as the last time a win happened away was in December 2018 at Sheffield United, can the Baggies finally win away on a Friday and their first win away since November?

Player To Watch – Coventry City

Haji Wright is player to watch for Coventry he has been the heartbeat of the Sky Blues attack this season. He has scored 11 goals in the Championship, he’s not just leading the scoring charts for the club, he has become a consistent threat in the final third.

His blend of physical presence, pace and composure in front of goal makes him a nightmare especially in big games like this one. He has become in form recently with a hat-trick over Sunderland and his ability to control big moments. The Sky Blues are still fighting for a play-off push and if they do to it, Wright would be the one to do it. This is going to be the game for our defense with the likes of Heggem and Bartley to watch over.

Player To Watch – West Brom

Tom Fellows is a player to watch for our upcoming game against Coventry City, the winger has been instrumental this season leading the Championship assists charts with 13 this season.

In our recent game against Watford Tom Fellows provided both assists, that showcased his ability to create scoring opportunities from the right flank and earnt a man of the match reward. For this game I do expect him to start and if the likes of Adam Armstrong, Will Lankshear and Mikey Johnston are on the pitch he could get the best out of them to strike during this crucial game over Coventry City.

Line Up V Coventry City

My Line Up over this encounter over Coventry I would keep the same back 4 with Griffiths starting, in midfield I bring in Diakite over Mowatt to start as he has put in a few decent performances and could be back from his minor injury. In attack Tom Fellows and Mikey Johnston would stay in the starting line up and I would have 2 strikers up front with Adam Armstrong and Will Lankshear starting.

Prediction V Coventry City

Last time out I predicted a 3-2 win over Watford and got a 2-1 win, lately in my predictions I have backed the Baggies to go on and win since the Oxford United game in February every game since then I said we would win in the predictions and if they came off all season we would be sitting comfortably top of the Championship.

Now a prediction in the most crucial stage in our season, I say it be very lively in the opening stages I think the first 10 minutes there be a opening goal and the Baggies would get one right away as we often do score early and say another Tom Fellows crossover and Will Lankshear would get his first goal since joining us on loan in February.

Coventry would then try and get one back and Heggem would make a few good defensive clearances showing why he is player of the season for West Brom. At half time it would be 1-0 and knowing another 45 minutes is needed to show why we should be in the play offs.

Second half, Coventry would be all over us but our defensive efforts would keep the score at 1-0 and around the 65th minute the Sky Blues would get the needed equaliser with Haji Wright who tries to finish but sees Ellis Simms who beats Griffiths to make it 1-1.

A few changes would be made with Lankshear who would come off for Daryl Dike, both teams would try and get the needed winner and around the 88th minute mark it would stay 1-1 and then Coventry would make a passing error with Diakite who would intercept and then Fellows would make the run and finds Daryl Dike who would beat one of the Coventry defenders to smash it into the net to make it 2-1 for the Baggies that could be the winner.

Prediction: Coventry City 1-2 West Brom

I said it before we faced Leeds that didn’t happen, I do think Daryl Dike would score a late winner in one of our crucial games this season it could be Coventry City as there has been a lot of last minute goals of late and we often concede but this time I can see us getting a late winner away from home and it’s going to be this one and Daryl Dike would be the one to do it.

Lets see what happens a win here would put us back into the Championship’s top six but at the moment it’s out of our hands and it’s a game against Coventry on Good Friday that could push us back in there and after this game it would be Derby at home before an away trip to Cardiff the weekend after.
