What a great response from the Baggies to somehow be 2-0 down to Watford to snatch a dramatic point from Darnell Furlong against a quality Watford side late in the second half to secure a vital point to be another step closer to the play-offs.

It seemed that interim manager for Watford Tom Cleverley’s away side would take all three points here after their 2nd goal and looked like a bad day at The Hawthorns for the first time since mid-February following goals from Edo Kayembe and Mileta Rajovic.
However, The Baggies somehow came back after being down a few times at QPR, Huddersfield and Millwall in recent weeks to nick a point with a vital goal from Brandon Thomas-Asante and a late goal by Darnell Furlong to extend our unbeaten run to eight games having not lost since the Southampton game in February.
The first half was quite a quiet half with not much chances for both sides and looked like it could be a 0-0 draw but we the Baggies did have one chance when Thomas-Asante had his shot by saved by Watford’s keeper Daniel Bachmann.

In the second half in the 51st minute it seemed frustrating when Watford took the lead and went 1-0 up following Kayembe’s goal when he found the bottom corner. Emmanunel Dennis who was my player to watch in this game struck the outside of our woodwork, with them not doubling the lead it came sooner with substitute Rajovic converting the goal and made it 2-0 to Watford and looked like a miserable afternoon for the Baggies.

Five minutes later, we had a glimmer of hope when Thomas-Asante smashed home his 11th goal of the season meaning we could get a result here. Then when added time was added I thought it would be game over but then Darnell Furlong scored an amazing goal one of the goals for us this season in added time to secure our second draw over the Easter weekend.
It would not the Easter weekend we all wanted, but with results elsewhere today with Norwich losing to Leicester and importantly Coventry losing to Cardiff 2-1 this keeps us 8 points clear of 7th place Coventry City with now 6 games left of the Championship season. We do have a good run coming up with Stoke City away next and have Rotherham and Sunderland to have after who have not been on the best of runs of late.
Meanwhile Watford will be in the Championship I say next season and will face Preston at home on Saturday. I will be at the Stoke game next Saturday and will be previewing this game later on the week and reviewing it right after the game. Enjoy the rest of your Easter and the week ahead.
