Who would of thought? 29 Seconds in the Baggies scored where Mikey Johnston who joined us from Celtic last month first start was one of the quickest goals from a Baggies player in some time.

A action-packed Tuesday night under the lights, we welcome Cardiff City to The Hawthorns where we look to maintain our position in the play offs. Just 9 points separates us and the Bluebirds and this is the game we should be comfortable where we come into this with 4 straight home league wins.

The Baggies made a great start after just 29 seconds when Tom Fellows played the ball to Mikey Johnston where he slotted the ball in the back of the net to make it 1-0 in his first start in a West Brom shirt.

Josh Griffiths warms up for Baggies wearing Daryl Dike on back of shirt.

On the 12th minute into the first half, Albion fans paid respect to Daryl Dike after his injury-disrupted campaign after suffering another Achilles injury and will be out for the rest of 2024.

Cardiff City had then a number of chances throughout the first half especially when Etete missed an opportunity to find a equalizer and did keep the most possession throughout the half with Cedric Kipre making a lot of clearances.

Alex Mowatt and Mikey Johnston failed to test Horvath who did make a good save from Brandon Thomas Asante. Eventually the goal came on the 80th minute mark when Andreas Weimann slid the ball in after Jed Wallace’s cross to make it 2-0.

It was a terrific Tuesday night at The Hawthorns and we deserved the three points that we can now build on to our next game at our fortress against promotion rivals Southampton on another evening game under the lights.
