Same Old Albion have again been defeated 3-1 to the hands of Derby County meaning all hopes of promotion is now officially over, plus marks the end of Tony Mowbray’s second term as manager.

All hopes of the play-offs could of been on as Coventry lost to Plymouth away and all we had to do is get some kind of result against relegation threatened Derby County.
In seven minutes into the game were behind seven minutes when Ebou Adams headed home from a Derby corner ensuring it could be a long day in store for the Baggies.
Derby doubled their lead on 30 minutes through a Darnell Furlong own-goal, the defender putting into his own net as another corner caused a few problems for the Albion.
We went close to scoring twice before half-time, Isaac Price who went off-target and Tom Fellows that saw a volley well saved but it was 2-0 to Derby at the break.
West Brom introduced Adam Armstrong, Jed Wallace, Daryl Dike and Karlan Grant for the last half hour of the game.
Then there was kind of hope when Adam Armstrong soon put the scoreline to 2-1 with the striker raced through and slotting under Josh Vickers.
However, Derby netted again during the final stages through Mendez-Laing, confirming their victory through a dip over Josh Griffiths.
West Brom 1-3 Derby County

A defeat again that ends all hopes of promotion for the Baggies meaning a 5th successive season in the Championship as it’s confirmed on Wikipedia for 2025-26 Championship for next season, this is due to Coventry having to face Middlesbrough on the final day ensuring we cannot finish in the play-off places.
It is a disappointment considering we’ve been inside the top six most of the season until recently and have now lost five of our last six games putting us into 10th place with 2 games to go. Tony Mowbray is now sacked meaning the board have work to do in the summer to try and rebuild and go again.
