John Eustace’s Derby have maintained their record over the Baggies with a late raid at The Hawthorns that ruined the 125th anniversary celebration. It was three points for Derby they didn’t really deserve and we controlled the game with possession and having 18 attempts on goal.

We started well with a first chance inside five minutes where Derby keeper Zetterstrom saved Isaac Price’s early volley.

Despite Derby’s Ben Brereton Diaz flicking a header well wide, it was the Baggies who carried the main threat without opening the scoring. Heggebo and Styles saw their attempt blocked as we pushed a Derby County side who were stubborn and Price tried to clip on into the roof of the net but it was goalless at half-time.

Both sides exchanged chances straight after the restart, with Nat Phillips being involved at both ends, the defender couldn’t get his header home but did well to block Brereton Diaz’s strike.

Substitute Iling-Junior set up for Heggebo who saw his shot over the net, and Molumby saw his effort stopped by the Derby goalkeeper. Six minutes of normal time, Derby stole it when ex-Baggie player Weimann converted a low effort.

Molumby then saw this attempt hit the crossbar as a late equaliser never arrived that saw our first defeat of the season at the hands of Derby going home with all three points.

Our first defeat in a game where we was in control throughout the whole game and it was Derby’s Weimann that ruined our big day at The Hawthorns and a chance to being at the top of the league.
