The Baggies had to come away with a 1-1 draw at Swansea City after a late Joe Allen stoppage time equaliser denied us all three points on Saturday afternoon.

The Baggies, less than 72 hours after beating Preston North End, almost claimed a victory following substitute Tom Fellows’ goal – but Joe Allen’s late leveller ensure the spoils were shared.
Just less than 72 hours after beating Preston, we almost claimed a victory following Tom Fellows substitute goal but a late equaliser I knew would come especially we never keep leads when playing away from home and our record at Swansea isn’t the best either. Joe Allen late goal ruined Albion’s day but we still in 6th place and play offs at the moment is in our favor.
Next up is a trip to Bournemouth in the FA Cup Third Round next Saturday at 3pm at least it won’t be a too early get up as this one was, there soon be a early kick off at Plymouth on the 1st February 2025.
Swansea started off the better side with creating a few chances only to see Liam Cullen and Goncalo Franco efforts over, Josh Key had a header cleared off the line.
After the 20 minute mark, the Baggies did most of the work, Molumby threatened twice, having one deflected wide and another one past the post wide, while the Swansea keeper Lawrence Vigouroux excellently saved Karlan Grant’s low drive among a particularly chance-ridden spell.
Mikey Johnston tried to nudge in on the action, yet found the Swans goalkeeper in his way too, and he arrowed another strike off-target. Down the other end, Zan Vipotnik went close via a low attempt just before the interval.
Mikey Johnston tried to nudge in but found the Swansea keeper in his way too, and he arrowed another strike off target.
Both sides had opportunities again in the second half, as Josh Tymon’s volley failed to stop Alex Palmer and Baggies watched a whole host of shots get blocked.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 66th minute when Molumby won possession, ran forward and fed substitute Fellows inside the box to convert a clever near-post finish.

Frustratingly, Swansea denied us all three points when Joe Allen nodded home an agonising equaliser to give us our 13th draw in the league and still in 6th position in the league.
Swansea 1-1 West Brom
Goalscorers for Swansea: Joe Allen
Goalscorers for West Brom: Tom Fellows
Another draw on the road for the Baggies, it isn’t bad as we have won the last 3 home games and if we carry on doing this, we would end up in the play-offs this season but today we was very unlucky again to not get all three points. We go again next Saturday for a long trip to Bournemouth in the FA Cup before we go back to league action against Stoke in 14 days time.
