How can we be comfortably leading 2-0 to throw it away and come out to draw 2-2 at Stoke City. It is now the third consecutive draw since the Easter Break after draws to Millwall, Watford and now Stoke City who all sit in the bottom half of the Championship table.

The Baggies manager made three changes to our teams from the Watford game by bringing in Kipre, Wallace and Diangana to the starting 11.

Stoke started of strong and caused us problems early on in the first half with Alex Palmer saving Haksabanovic’s effort and Manhoef’s volley.

Thomas-Asante had two shots blocked down from the other end, although Stoke were the side continuing to bombard us with Manhoef having a finish well-spotted when through on goal and Haksabanoic shooting narrowly wide soon later.

Midway through the half, though, the Baggies opened the scoring. Wonderful play eventually enabled Johnston and Grady Diangana to play a one-two, with the on-loan Celtic winger netting emphatically.

Mikey Johnston scored his 7th goal for The Baggies since joining on loan from Celtic.

In the 24th minute of the half the Baggies opened the scoring with the on-loan Celtic winger Mikey Johnston netting expressly.

Stoke did have opportunities before half time when Enda Stevens was off target and Ryan Mmaee trickling just past the post. The Baggies held firm and kept the 1-0 lead come half-time.

Jed Wallace doubles the lead at the Bet365 Stadium.

Come the 57th minute the lead was doubled when Thomas-Asante evaded two Stoke defenders and sent in a cross where Jed Wallace striked it and made no mistake to put us 2-0 up.

The home side pulled a goal back 20 minutes from the end, Manhoef converting inside the area and setting up a tough end.

Stoke pulled a goal back with 20 minutes to go with Manhoef converting inside the area. They also completed the comeback after the Baggies had given away a penalty. Then substitute Vidigal’s initial spot-kick was saved, yet he was there to smash in the rebound and ensure the points were shared and was another frustrated afternoon for us away from home.

Next up for us is Rotherham on Wednesday night at The Hawthorns, who got relegated on Friday night after losing 1-0 to Plymouth Argyle. For Stoke City they travel to Swansea on the same night at the Swansea.com Stadium.
