2024 has finished for the Baggies after a 1-1 draw over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane for a Sunday Lunchtime clash. Karlan Grant’s goal during first-half stoppage time, ensured the points were shared.

Four changes were made before the game with Callum Styles, Ousmane Diakite, Karlan Grant and Jayson Molumby all started, with Alex Mowatt and Mason Holgate both ruled out through injury.
Callum Styles saw an effort saved yet it was Sheffield United who took the lead half way through the first half, winning the ball high and converted via a low Brooks finish.
Sheffield United however did create more chances with Tom Davies firing wide and Kieffer Moore headed off the target, the Baggies had bright spells too.
Josh Maja had a shot comfortably gathered and Tom Fellows hit a rebound over before the deserved equaliser arrived thanks to Karlan Grant’s superb low strike to level it before half time.

Following half time, The Baggies went looking for a second and almost did with Michael Cooper denying Karlan Grant from nodding home at close range and also pushed away in a later attempt.
However Sheffield United turned the tide in their direction and tried for more opportunities. Tom Davies dragged an effort wide, then doing the same with an overhead kick, and the Baggies defended a number of long-throws and other attacks late on in the second half.
The Baggies had Jed Wallace’s late free kick kept out, before we held on to a fantastic point at Bramall Lane and bring this back to The Hawthorns for our New Years Day clash against Preston.
