It was a miserable Saturday afternoon in London as the Baggies suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Millwall at The Den.

After Wednesday’s win at Norwich there was a number of changes made as we couldn’t replicate the our midweek win in Norfolk as goals from Jake Cooper, Femi Azeez and Zak Sturge secured the Lions all three points.
Millwall started the best out of two sides, with Chris Mepham diverting Billy Mitchells attempt over just before Griffiths stopped Jake Cooper’s header.
However, in the 18th minute the deadlock was broken as Cooper scored the opening goal for Millwall, chances were limited for the rest of the half, leaving the Lions in the lead at the break.
Following the restart there was nothing the Baggies could of done to prevent Millwall’s double by Azeez curling his long-range strike to put the Lions 2-0 up.
In the final 20 minutes more embarrassment for the Baggies as Sturge’s long range effort gave the hosts all three points and sending us to 7th in the table after nine games played.
Millwall 3-0 West Brom

A defeat in the capital it was following our decent win in midweek, I was confident about this one before the game and thought we could get a result here but a 3-0 defeat and a poor performance by the Baggies looked like we need to display more better than this after the international break.
I get it was our 2nd away game in less than 72 hours and some of our key players may need to be rested but we should of started Maja, Iling Junior and Mowatt as we looked lost throughout the game without those needed. I know we would lose games in this league as we would but to display this at Millwall looks like there is a long way to be a top six Championship club as we don’t deserve anything worse than that at the moment.
