The Baggies have completed the loan signing of Northern Ireland international Paddy McNair on a loan deal until 31st December 2024 from MLS side San Diego FC.

McNair has spent the last 6 years at Middlesbrough since leaving as a free agent in June but now would join the Midlands club till he can join his San Diego FC side in 2025.
Paddy McNair has 69 international caps for Northern Ireland and bolters Corberan’s options in defence. Paddy says it’s an exciting move and hopes to show his capabilities in an Albion shirt as soon as possible.
He has also said “West Bromwich Albion is a very good club and one I’ve always admired.
“I know a lot of lads who have played here in the past and they’ve all said good things about it. I’m really happy to be here.
“I’ve played in the Championship for the last seven years so I’ve got a lot of experience in this division.”
I think it could be a great signing till December as he has Championship experience for Middlesbrough and has played in the Premier League for Manchester United and Sunderland. I hope there would be more new faces come the summer window as we are lacking a left back, maybe a right back for someone to compete with Darnell Furlong and a striker is top priority as we could look to use the loan market for some decent players that could help us push for another play off/promotion challenge for this season.
