Top of the table Baggies entertain Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday lunchtime as they are looking to keep their best run to the season going.

The Baggies are top of the Championship coming into this away fixture at Sheffield Wednesday as we have won 5 and drawn 1 in our opening first 6 games. Last time out we beat Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth side 1-0 at The Hawthorns meanwhile Sheffield Wednesday who are in the relegation places lost 2-1 to Luton last weekend.

This fixture is a difficult one and I still cannot get over of what happened last season where we was defeated 3-0 to the Owls meaning our play offs hopes could of ended but it didn’t as we went on to finish 5th in the league and that result did sent the Blues down so I could take that looking back but it was a bad wet day in April with a shocking result that went down badly. I remember having to get tickets the day before due to having a shortage of loyalty points where I kind of went to nearly every game last season.

It is a new day on Saturday and another kick off time with us winning all of our away fixtures this season meaning we have now won 50% of away games than last season where we just won 6 of them. I am expecting we could get a result here but wouldn’t be surprised if Sheffield Wednesday turn up.

Player to Watch – Sheffield Wednesday

Player to watch for the Owls is going to be for Josh Windass, the forward we was linked to over the summer and at one point there was rumors he was in advanced talks with us but was pulled out due to not agreeing terms.

However, he be my player to watch as he did get one over us back in that dreadful game in April last season where Windass was man of the match in that game and was one of the forwards who helped the Owls secure their last home game of last season with a win and secured another season in the Championship.

In this encounter, he could strike again but with only 1 goal to his name so far this season he probably would want to get one over the Baggies as he didn’t sign for them over the summer window he could be thinking I would like to get more goals to my tally against us that could help him kick on his season with his Sheffield Wednesday side.

I would be expecting Josh Windass to be one of their key players for the Owls at Hillsborough on Saturday and could he stop our unbeaten run to the season?

Player to Watch – West Brom

Torbjørn Heggem is having a great start to life in West Brom colours and has been one of the signings of the season for me so far and I think Patel is doing good business at The Hawthorns so far to get the Norwegian defender in.

Since Cedric Kipre and Conor Townsend gone over the summer, Heggem has quickly stepped in and has helped us with his blockages and the opposition’s attacking threats in games so far this season. He has been player of the match once in our 0-0 draw over Leeds but I am tipping him to be one of the key players to prevent us from suffering another upset at Hillsborough in our early kick off.

I think he would of have enough quality to stop Sheffield Wednesday’s attack and would help us secure a result that could keep us top of the Championship for another few days before our midweek clash against Middlesbrough on Tuesday.

My Line Up V Sheffield Wednesday

Here is my line up against Sheffield Wednesday, I would start same XI but replace Karlan Grant with Mikey Johnston in the wing as I would prefer him to start as he could give a performance and help the Baggies secure a result.

My Prediction V Sheffield Wednesday

Predictions for this fixture, it be tricky like every game I remember last season saying we would beat them easy. I expect this to be difficult at Hillsborough come Saturday I would not have to rush to get last minute tickets this time as I be attending this fixture again.

I say nothing would happen in the first 35 minutes with both sides trying to get the opening goal but both keepers making great saves to keep the scoreline goalless. Before half time I think there be an opening goal with the Baggies taking the lead with Mikey Johnston making it 1-0 before the break and giving us the lead at half time.

Second half there won’t be much happening in the first 20 minutes but I think the Owls would get a penalty with Josh Windass taking it but Alex Palmer would make a wonderful save to keep the score at 1-0 and before full time I predict we get another goal with Jed Wallace coming off the bench to give us the three points and keep us top of the table with a 2-0 victory in Sheffield.

Prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 West Brom

Goalscorers: Mikey Johnston, Jed Wallace

A 2-0 victory I’m going for to start the weekend off to a great start and keep us top of the Championship table until we face Middlesbrough at The Hawthorns on Tuesday evening to start off the dreaded mid-week games in the league this season.

I think this would be a perfect result and I am going for a win but still not confident of what happened last time we visited in April.
