The Baggies are out of the Carabao Cup after League Two side Fleetwood Town gave us the shock of the round and lost at the first round.

Not the best of nights at Fleetwood for the Baggies as they came away defeated in the first round and now remain in two competitions for this season the Championship and the FA Cup that starts in January. It would be league action from now till January in where we would focus on the league.

Modou Faal gets the opener in the cup tie V Fleetwood Town.

It all started off well for us in the 8th minute when Modou Faal scored the opener where I thought it could be a long night for Fleetwood, but how wrong was I? 4 minutes later in the 12th minute Fleetwood Town equalized where Ryan Graydon made it 1-1 making it level.

Just before the half time mark Fleetwood took the lead with Ronan Coughlan scoring on the 33rd minute to allow Fleetwood to win the game.

In the second half I say we was the better team but we couldn’t produce anything to get back into the game, this is not a great result but I don’t find it shocking as our main priority is the Championship but it would of been nice to have a good cup run and play a Premier League side in the later rounds or face the likes of Wolves or Newcastle in the second round.

It’s time to focus on the league on Saturday as we return to The Hawthorns for the first time since May 12th against Play Off Finalists Leeds United.

Fleetwood 2-1 West Brom

Goalscorers for Fleetwood: Ryan Graydon (12′), Ronan Coughlan (33′)

Goalscorers for West Brom: Modou Faal (8′)
