What a way to start the season as the Baggies beat QPR 3-1 to get the season off the right foot as Josh Maja scores an hat trick.

An early start as we head to London for the opening day of the season, as we lost to Birmingham 4-1 in pre season last weekend we hope for a better day today over in Loftus Road.

Things didn’t start off well for the Baggies as in the 16th minute Lucas Andersen put Queens Park Rangers ahead and looks like our away woes is continuing but it didn’t.

10 minutes after the opening goal, Josh Maja then levelled it for the Baggies to make it 1-1 and the score remained level at half time.

Six minutes into the second half Josh Maja then got a brace with a second header when Tom Fellows set him up with a cross to give the Baggies the lead. Then again Josh Maja scored an hat trick who was out for 6 months last season with an injury who gave Rangers the last blow.

Josh Maja’s scores a hat trick for West Brom. The last West Brom player to score an hat-trick was Dwight Gayle in April 2019.

A great win to the first game of the season for the Baggies and a great three points to start the season. I didn’t expect that we would go on and get the win here at Loftus Road maybe a draw at best. It was a great day out in London and get to see the Baggies win away for the first time since March.

We now move on to Fleetwood away in the cup on Tuesday night before our first home game back at The Hawthorns on Saturday against last season’s play off finalists Leeds United.
