Points were earnt at Bramall Lane on Saturday afternoon as George Campbell made up for his own goal with a stunning goal from long range that moved the Baggies out of the relegation zone.

We came into this game knowing what is expected after our recent performances and results, this one meant we under no pressure as we headed to Sheffield with us sitting 22nd in the table after Oxford’s win on Friday night.

The Baggies had a scare in the opening stages when Andre Brooks volley hit off target. However, we did have opportunities when Ollie Bostock shot off the target and Krystian Bielik was close to smashing just over.

Neither side notched before the break as the scores remained goalless, however after the restart Isaac Price was close seeing shot well saved by the Sheffield United keeper forcing a corner.

Against the run play for the Albion, Sheffield United broke the deadlock where George Campbell diverted Gustavo Hamer’s to ensure a own goal.

Albion didn’t seem to give up as they continued to fightback with Isaac Price having another attempt denied.

Sheffield United created a few chances as Sydie Peck headed past the post and Max O’Leary kept out Tyrese Campbell’s volley.

George Campbell made up for his own goal as he send his long-range strike into the bottom corner as the Baggies earnt a solid point at Bramall Lane and a decent point to take back to the Midlands before we go again on Wednesday evening against Southampton.

Sheffield United 1-1 West Brom

Goalscorers for Sheffield United: George Campbell (OG) 53′

Goalscorers for West Brom: George Campbell 83′

A decent point at Bramall Lane and it was a much better performance we’ve played in recent weeks, still winless in 14 league games but hopefully this point can help our side get more confidence back as we head into our final 10 games hoping the Baggies can steer away from relegation to the 3rd tier. See you again on Monday evening as I prepare a match preview as we head back to The Hawthorns against high-flying Southampton who are chasing a play-off place.
