Baggies have today completed the signing of defender Torbjørn Heggem for a fee of around £500K from Swedish top-flight side Brommapojkarna.

The 25 year old has signed a three-year deal at The Hawthorns. The 6ft 3in defender believes his ambition matches that of the club and head coach Carlos Corberán.

Heggem has said it feels great to be here and English football has always been the biggest thing in Norway. To play in England is a dream for everyone growing up and hopefully I will achieve that now I have signed. He is also looking forward to the challenge at The Hawthorns.

He says that the Head Coach Carlos Corberan is very ambitious and wants to get the best out of every player and would suit the player well.

This is our 2nd signing and seems like a great signing coming from Sweden and could he be the next Jonas Olsson for us? I think he could be a Cedric Kipre replacement who could be set to leave on a free transfer as his contract is now expired.

I’m sure we would get more players in during the transfer window and hopefully a striker is what is needed.
