Another disappointing result for the Albion after losing 3-0 to relegation rivals Portsmouth that has put the club just a place above the relegation zone, meaning a Blackburn win in the week would put the Baggies into the bottom three come Tuesday evening.

First half strikes from Conor Chaplin and Millenic Alli and a second half goal from Ebou Adams secured another misery day on the road for the Baggies. This result is leaving fans feeling frustrated and embarrassed by how 11 players on the pitch simply don’t know how to play football and not turning up for a big game like this that was remarked as a relegation six pointer.
Onto the match review, Portsmouth were the best team with a good start with Conor Chaplin having two opportunities to notch in the early stages before grabbing the opening goal as he drilled home giving the lead for Portsmouth.
Not long later, the hosts scored again, with Dozzell opening up the back-line, leaving Alli the opportunity to strike the ball and double their advantage giving the visiting fans misery.
In the second half there was three changes made, then yet again Portsmouth made the opening stage of the half, with Adams who found space to give Pompey a 3-0 lead.
The only chance of the game is when Mikey Johnston made a effort afterwards but was not enough as the Baggies was humiliated by Pompey and left empty handed at Fratton Park.
Portsmouth 3-0 West Brom
Goalscorers for Portsmouth: Conor Chaplin, Millenic Alli, Ebou Adams
A 3-0 defeat to relegation rivals Portsmouth in the Championship has to be embarrassing for a team like West Brom. Eric Ramsay has now seen 12 goals conceded in his four games in charge and for me he has to be the worst first 4 games in our management history, I think it’s a wrong managerial appointment and Ryan Mason should of been sacked and we should of gone for a interim type of manager till the end of the season.
It would be gutting to end a Tuesday evening in February in the bottom three. With 16 games left, it’s still not over, but I can’t see where the points come from. And for Isaac Price — who I worried might be sold at the start of the season — he has a lot to answer for. That shambolic performance only deepened the frustration of supporters who deserved accountability, not confrontation.
Next up is Stoke at home, a game I’m getting worried about already hopefully we can turn this around but it would take a lot for this lot to get going and the early start of the season form seems a lifetime ago and if that didn’t happen we would be 23rd and would look certain to be playing League One football next season.
