Eric Ramsay’s first game as West Brom Head Coach ended in defeat as Middesbrough’s Delano Burgzorg got the late win for the Boro that secured three straight league defeats for the Baggies.

It was a new era for the Albion as Eric Ramsay takes to The Hawthorns hot seat for the first time since being appointed last Sunday as they face 2nd placed Middlesbrough under the lights on Friday night.

There was a number of chances for the Baggies in the opening stages where Heggebo nearly scored only for his attempt to be blocked by Sol Brynn as an own-goal by Charlie Taylor put Middlesbrough ahead just before half-time

Following the break, Heggebo quickly saw his shot saved yet Middlesbrough doubled their lead where Silvera hit a powerful finish into the bottom corner that put the visitors 2-0 up and a frustrating start for Eric Ramsay’s Baggies.

There was a few changes with Jed Wallace and Josh Maja coming on and before that it was Isaac Price’s free-kick that halved the deficit and put the Baggies back into the game at 2-1. Then the turnaround happened soon late with Jed Wallace scoring a great goal to put the Baggies back level and a joy of celebration ringing out The Hawthorns.

In stoppage time, same old Albion for a number of times this season always seem to concede late in added time as Middlesbrough regained their lead and got the winner to give another Baggies heartbreak giving the visitors all three points and keeps them in the automatic promotion places, as for us we now sit in the bottom six of the Championship.

West Brom 2-3 Middlesbrough

Goalscorers for West Brom: Isaac Price (75′), Jed Wallace (80′)

Goalscorers for Middlesbrough: Charlie Taylor OG (42′), Samuel Silvera (58′), Delano Burgzorg (90′)

Another late defeat for the Baggies and seems to be a few positives for Eric Ramsay’s side to come back from 2-0 down as it was against one of the best teams in the Championship, we was again very unlucky to not earn a point out of this one and there could of been one winner at the end of the night, it was same old as the Baggies need to stop conceding very late on, as in our last 3 games we could of easily got 3 draws out of.

Onto Tuesday night as it’s another big game in the Championship as we head back to The Hawthorns to face Norwich City under the lights again.
