Back to winning ways for the Albion on Friday evening after second half goals by Aune Heggebo and Karlan Grant secured all three points.

Sheffield United created the first chance of the game where Gustavo Hamer produced one towards the goal, only for Joe Wildsmith to produce a strong save.

The Baggies soon produced their own openings as Mikey Johnston saw a back-post volley well blocked and Ousmane Diakite headed the resulting corner over.

The visitors remained a threat for the game and Nat Phillips was firm by stopping Tyrese Campbell’s run and shot whilst Patrick Bamford had a relatively tame finish saved by Wildsmith.

Both teams exchanged a few more opportunities before half time too, but United Soumare had a shot fired over and Heggebø hit a half-volley off target.

The in-form Norwegian wasted no time netting straight after the break, though. He played the ball out to George Campbell, who returned an excellent low cross, which Heggebø expertly converted to make it 1-0.

In-form Heggebø then netted straight away in the second half, he played the ball out to George Campbell who then returned a excellent low cross, where Heggebo expertly converted to make it 1-0 to the Baggies.

On the hour mark, the scoreline was doubled as Heggebø was involved again here he played on Karlan Grant through to smash a superb shot home through the underside of the crossbar.

The Baggies then saw out the win through the final stages by keeping a clean sheet and being unbeaten in our last seven home games. Next up is Hull City next Saturday

West Brom 2-0 Sheffield United

Goalscorers for West Brom: Aune Heggebo, Karlan Grant

A great win for us over Sheffield United at The Hawthorns, our home record is extended by being unbeaten since losing to Derby County in September. Our results at home has been decent but being on the road the results are poor and lets see if we can keep up this momentum we done here at Hull City next weekend.
